Delete your account and data

You can delete your Hexret account, and everything we hold about you, at any time: from inside the app in a few taps, or by email if you can no longer sign in. This applies to the web app and to the iOS and Android apps, and to accounts created with Google, GitHub, Facebook or Apple sign-in.

1.Delete it yourself, in the app

  1. Sign in to Hexret on the web or in the app.
  2. Open Settings from your account menu.
  3. Scroll to Delete account and press it.
  4. Type your handle to confirm. The button only works once the handle matches.

Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out everywhere. We send one confirmation email to the address on the account, and nothing after that.

2.Ask us by email

If you cannot sign in, write to [email protected] from the email address on the account, or the one you use with Google, GitHub, Facebook or Apple, and give your handle if you remember it. We check that the request really comes from you, delete the account within 30 days (usually within a few days) and reply when it is done. If you used Sign in with Apple with a hidden email address, write from an address you can still reach and tell us the handle.

3.What is deleted

Deleting the account removes, immediately and permanently:

  • your profile: email address, handle, display name, name, bio and avatar;
  • the link to any Google, GitHub, Facebook or Apple account you signed in with, so we no longer hold your id with that provider;
  • your progress, XP, level, streaks, tokens, rewards, achievements, duel results and season placements;
  • your feedback, card reviews and run reviews, your sign-in records and any notification registrations;
  • your customer record at Stripe, which also cancels any Pro subscription. Deleting does not refund the current period; if you are within the 14-day window in our Terms of Service, cancel with a refund first.

4.What is kept

Records of past payments stay with Stripe for as long as tax and accounting law requires; they hold the invoice details, never your card number. Nothing else about you survives the deletion: any copy still sitting in our routine backups expires on their normal rotation, and a backup is never used to bring a deleted account back. Our Privacy Policy lists what we hold while the account is open and for how long.

5.Removing only some data

You do not have to delete the account to remove something. In Settings you can change your display name and bio and remove your avatar at any time. Disconnecting Hexret inside your Google, GitHub, Facebook or Apple account only revokes that way of signing in; your Hexret account stays until you delete it.
